Launching a new Section for the Care of the Blind
AOBWC in Sana’a announced on Saturday the establishment of Al-Aman Forum for the Blind. This came during an event organized by the Organization in which an administrative body for the forum was elected. The administrative body consisted of seven members nominated by 42 members, who are Ms. Afrah Assaj the President, Ms. Samah Al-Qadi the Secretary-General, Ms. Resala Al-Shawkani the Chairwoman of the Media and Advocacy Committee, Ms. Najeeba Al-Redai the Chairwoman of the Cultural Committee and Ms. Hind Al-Harbi the Chairwoman of the Graduate Affairs Committee, Nada Assaj the Chairwoman of the Sports and Recreation Committee and Ms. Asma Sharafuddin a reserve member. The election was preceded by introducing the members of the forum rules and regulations.
The forum aims to pay attention and qualify the female blind graduates in particular and the female blind women in general in all governorates of the Republic. The idea of establishing the forum came up in February of last year, where the idea was suggested by a group of members of the Organization and approved at the time. Anb then the group was instructed to prepare the rules and regulations of the forum under the direct supervision of the leadership of the Organization.
AOBWC is preparing to declare the Forum next Thursday in conjunction with the event of death anniversary of charity works leader in Yemen, Ms. Fatima Al-Aqil which will be held at the Organization headquarters in Sana’a.
